Let’s face it: time is the one thing every middle school science teacher wishes they had more of. Between prepping lessons, keeping students engaged, and managing classroom chaos, it can feel like there’s never enough of it to go around. I faced these same problems too, which is why I now rely on a handful of resources that make my life easier and my classroom run smoother.
Here are five done-for-you resources that have been absolute game-changers for me—and I think they’ll be for you, too!
1. Warm-Ups Done-for-you for the Entire School Year
One of the smartest moves I made in my classroom was introducing daily warm-ups. They immediately calm the hallway frenzy and give students a task the moment they walk in. Plus, they double as a quick check-in on what they’ve retained from previous lessons.
But let me be real with you—when I first started using warm-ups, I was scrambling. Every morning, I’d go into a mini panic five minutes before class started, frantically trying to think of a warm-up question. My own fault, yes, but it was still stressful!
I loved everything about warm-ups, except my lack of planning in advance. So, I decided to create Middle School Science Review Warm-Ups for the entire school year to save me from the scramble.
225 questions, 45 weeks’ worth.
Now it’s all done and I’m so relieved that I don’t have to worry about them each morning! These spiral review warm-ups are a lifesaver. Covering Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science concepts throughout the year, they help me consistently reinforce key topics. They make reviewing everything students have learned in middle school science so much easier before testing season.
Let me take warm-ups off your plate! They’re editable, come in digital versions, and, most importantly, they’re done-for-you. You’ll wonder how you ever survived without them.
2. A Complete Interactive Science Notebook Kit
Another done-for-you resource that you need to try is Interactive Science Notebooks! These are near and dear to my heart. I have been using these in my classroom since my very first year of teaching. They might seem a little overwhelming to start, but I promise they’re worth the effort! They’ve made such a huge impact in my classroom, and once I started using them, I never looked back.
These notebooks aren’t just a way to stay organized (though they definitely help with that). They also make grading easier, create a portfolio for students to track their progress, and give students a resource they can carry with them to the next grade or even high school. How cool is that?
Want to make Interactive Science Notebooks even easier? My Interactive Science Notebook Kit has everything you need to make it happen: subject covers, table of contents templates, assessment trackers, and reflection pages. It’s customizable too, so you can add tabs or pages as your class needs evolve!

3. Agenda Slides For Every Class Period
While every class may start with a warm-up, my agenda slides are the true MVPs for setting the tone of the day in my middle school science classes. These slides, projected on the SmartBoard, serve as the backbone of my classroom management strategy. Trust me—these will change your life!
Say goodbye to…
- What are we doing today?!
- What is the warm up?!
- Do we have a lab?!
- Is there a test today?!
…and hello to students having all the answers they need the second they walk in the door.
These agenda slides feature everything students need: the day’s objective, the warm-up question, a breakdown of the agenda, important reminders, and even specific supplies needed for the day.
My agenda slides are super easy to update and project—taking less than a minute each day. The clarity and consistency they provide not only help my students stay focused, but also make a great impression on administrators who love seeing clear objectives front and center when they walk in.

4. Everyday Science Templates For Every Unit
Are you tired of creating new worksheets for every unit? Then these done-for-you science templates are for you! Instead of creating new worksheets for every unit, I like to use versatile templates that work for a variety of lessons, which saves me tons of time.
- The Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) template is great for mini-labs or video observations. It guides students to answer questions, support their claims with evidence, and explain their reasoning.
- The Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) template is perfect for demonstrations. Students make predictions, observe the results, and then explain what happened.
- The Scientific Method Lab Report templates simplify documenting experiments. Students focus on variables, hypotheses, data, and conclusions without needing a new format each time.
These templates help my students build essential skills while saving me time and effort in preparing for lessons. A win-win if you ask me!
