Plastic Pollution and the Coral Reef Project-Based Learning

Description

This is a Project-Based Learning activity that can be implemented in almost any science classroom and comes with a digital google slides version. It is all about how plastic pollution has an effect on the biodiversity of the coral reefs. Students compile research, create a public service announcement and then an action plan to create a solution to this real-world problem.

This project has multiple parts:
✅ A vision board where students illustrate or create a vision of the coral reef using images.
✅ Research into the biodiversity of the coral reef and plastic pollution
✅ Creating a public service announcement presentation or video.
✅ A student-created action plan that gets the school and/or community involved in efforts to reduce the plastic in the oceans.

A Project-Based Learning (PBL) notebook is included to guide students through each part of the planning process and research. Details on how to implement each part of the project are also included.
