Description
The perfect lab to review waves with your earth science or physical science class! Students will use Claim, Evidence and Reasoning (CER) to explore various interactions of waves with hands-on, interactive lab stations.
All lab stations and student handout are completely editable and include templates to create your own!
Lab stations are quick and easy to set up. Each station will take students 6-8 minutes to complete. They include:
1. Modeling transverse waves with a slinky
2. Listening to sound in different mediums (air, water, sand)
3. Observing a pencil in water (refraction)
4. Listening to sound through string cups.
5. Making a model of a transverse wave with a string to explore how wavelength affects frequency
6. Exploring how white light reflects all wavelengths of color using flashlights with cellophane
7. Prisms and flashlights
8. Absorption with gummy bears and flash lights.
Content covered:
⭐ Absorption
⭐ Refraction
